Canopy Piloting

Skytime offers a Canopy Piloting course to help you improve your confidence under canopy and to help you develop your techniques of flying your canopy.

The design of modern parachutes and the materials they are made from have changed significantly over the years and they continue to evolve. We now work with many types of canopy ranging from the basic rectangular “Ram Air” parachutes to high performance rigid wings.

With changes to design and size of parachutes piloting techniques must also develop and evolve. This course will help you understand the structures and aerodynamics of your canopy. You will learn the effects of different types os input (toggles, risers, harness) and you will become a safer and more proficient.
